Automatically pick up Gold.
I just wondered why we are not able to "Auto Pick Up Gold"
I understand that there is a satisfaction of seeing a pile of gold drop, but beyond that, I cannot think of a circumstance where I would not immediately want to pick up the gold.
Since it is shared equally, it does not matter who picks it up.
Bot farmers already have auto pick up scripts, and I've often doubled back on an area to find a pile of gold I missed earlier.

True about it not being a hinderence to the bots. Would be great if the gold was just added straight to the party.
Or a button you can press to auto pick loot up within a certain area. Plenty of RPG's have it and it works great.

I would sign, but I just dont see a need for it.
This isnt a platform game, where you run into the gold and it does a nifty animation and mates a sweet little sound and you exorb the gold.
Its an MMO where you have to walk to stuff and pick it up.
Plus how would the system know which human in the team got priority to "auto" picking up the gold!
It really doesnt take 2 seconds to go collect gold. And assuming your in an 8 man team of humans, then you have more then enough hands to collect it.

No, they are programmed to pick loot up, but they pick it up in the exact same way you and I would...
Auto pick up would make bot programs easier to code and set up as the whole part of the code for setting up the bot wouldn't be necessary

Well the bot programs exist already, so changing it now won't really make a difference, will it?

Gold drops are drops... they won't bbe drops if they didn't drop...
They could just make drops appear instantly in player's inventories, like Challenge and Arena rewards, but...
They won't be drops in that way.
I would agree with Miniatures picking stuff, though.

Why don't we go the whole nine yards and implement a feature in which a bot will play for you if you do not touch the keyboard? That way you can win missions and not even have to play. The only real enjoyment involved in the game is choosing skill builds anyway, right? We'll just make it so that you can choose the skill builds and the bot plays the game for you. And oh, while we're at it, people aren't going to want to have to stop what they're doing to change skill builds, so we'll make it automatically generate too and then the bot will continue to play the game without your ever having to touch the mouse. There.. Perfect game.. Why shouldn't we do it this way?
Why? Because *you* are playing the freakin' game. You don't need to be so lazy that you can't pick up a few pieces of gold. If you don't want it, don't pick it up. And once more, you don't even have to get your fat lazy butt off your chair to get the gold, so go eat a salad and stop complaining!

lolwhat. Are you suggesting that us having to pick up gold is a big and mean barrier keeping the bots at bay?
By this logic, wouldn't it be better for us to have to pick up XP and faction points?
I would definately not mind this. I see no reason (other than the roleplaying aspect) for us having to pick up gold manually. I'd love it if it just went "Your party earned 302 gold, you received 37 gold as your share." or something as you killed a mob.

Its a case of what enhances the game and what just bogs it down. As it is picking up gold is not a task that requires great skill or a vast knowledge of the game. Its just something that gets in the way of playing it.
